Job Overview
We are looking for a competent and detail-oriented Finance & Accounts Manager to join the Finance, Accounts, Administration and Costing team of our business operations in Angola.
The selected candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, budgeting, cost control, fund management and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires strong financial and analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Manage monthly and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare and review Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.
- Monitor cash flows and prepare financial forecasts.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Manage corporate taxation, VAT, payroll taxes and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory and regulatory returns.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure compliance.
3. Auditing & Internal Controls
- Coordinate and execute statutory audits and internal audits.
- Prepare audit documentation and maintain accurate financial records.
- Strengthen internal controls and implement measures to minimise financial risks and errors.
4. Budgeting, Costing & Financial Planning
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cost forecasts and expenditure reports.
- Track costs and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Prepare business plans, cash-flow statements and financial forecasts for different business sectors in coordination with the Finance & Accounts Senior Manager and CFO.
- Prepare cost valuations for review by the CFO.
5. Accounting & Financial Records
- Review, analyse and maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Ensure the effectiveness of accounting systems, processes and financial policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency and profitability.
6. Fund & Treasury Management
- Manage funds received from and provided to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the efficient utilisation of funds.
- Monitor interest payments, contractual obligations and payment deadlines.
- Review funding terms and conditions in line with prevailing market conditions.
7. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain professional relationships with banks, tax authorities, lawyers and regulatory departments.
- Coordinate with labour and immigration departments and other relevant authorities.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to facilitate payments and ensure the timely delivery of goods to factories, group companies and third parties outside Angola.
