Design Engineer
Job Description
We are hiring a Design Engineer responsible for the design, 2D drafting, 3D modelling, detailing, and engineering documentation of industrial equipment, tanks, cranes, porta cabins, sheet metal components, and structural fabrication projects. The candidate will work on live projects involving Mud Tanks, Brine Tanks, Trip Tanks, Derrick Cranes, Porta Cabins, Sheet Metal Works, and Structural Fabrication, converting customer requirements into manufacturing-ready drawings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, weldments, and flat patterns in SolidWorks.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, GA, and shop drawings using AutoCAD.
- Design and detail industrial tanks (Mud, Brine, Trip, Storage/Process tanks), Derrick Cranes, Porta Cabins/prefabricated modular structures, platforms, walkways, and miscellaneous structural steel.
- Execute sheet metal design, flat patterns, bend allowances/deductions, K-factors, and cutting/bending layouts for press brakes and laser/plasma cutting.
- Generate detailed Bill of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, and material take-offs.
- Carry out basic engineering calculations related to dimensions, weights, loads, and material requirements.
- Support production and fabrication teams by resolving design issues, revising drawings, and verifying dimensional feasibility.
- Coordinate customer requirements, incorporate revisions, and maintain drawing revision control.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Engineer capable of managing the full design lifecycle from concept to production-ready shop drawings. The candidate must possess hands-on, practical fabrication knowledge and mandatory proficiency in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Candidate Profile
- Mandatory working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments).
- Practical understanding of fabrication processes: welding symbols, cutting, drilling, press brake bending, fit-up, and assembly.
- Ability to convert concepts into accurate, economical, and practical manufacturing drawings independently.
- Strong attention to detail, dimensional accuracy, and BOM preparation skills.
