Coronation Power & Gas ltd is establishing a 20 Mw Independent Power Plant situated at Sango Otta, Km 39 along Lagos Abeokuta Express way. The Power Plant is first Co-heat and power generation power plant in Nigeria. Power & steam Generation from first Phase of project of 8.75Mw is commissioned and started power & steam generation from Sept,2011. Power distribution to customer will be through private ring main established for the purpose. The high efficiency power plant shall be a consistently reliable source of economical power with green foot prints . The Power plant is being established with clean development mechanism under Kyoto protocol reducing about 39.000 tons of Carbon emission annually. Huge response from Industries in Otta Area has encouraged planning for expansion to 20 MW Capacity. The Plant is state of art with significantly reduced emission of Green house gas to atmosphere , contributing to efforts towards combating global warming. Coronation Power & Gas is undertaking this project under Clean Development Mechanism under Kyoto protocol.
